The man behind the alias Vizay is Peter Lamperud, born on the 26th of October 1985 in Stockholm, Sweden.
He developed an interest for music at a young age, and that resulted in taking regular guitar lessons from the age of 9.
It wasn't until he heard the track "Hardcore Vibes" by Dune that he grew a really big interest in electronic dance music. This track became somewhat of a turning point, since it took him from Rock and Grunge and into the real world of EDM.
In 1997, he was introduced to the software eJay. And - although he found it very interesting - it was still more about playing around and less about creating something really serious.
A friend gave him a short introduction to Reason 1.0 in 1998, and from that moment on he was more or less hooked for good! In Reason he found what he had been looking for: he could finally do something of his own without creative limitations. From that day, music production has been a major part of his life.
"It has always been a hobby" he claims, but most of the time it takes up more time than just a regular hobby!
In 2004, Peter hooked up with James Wood (Wandii) and DJ Andi C on the Internet. With Wandii and Andi always listening, giving their input, and with Andi trying the tracks out on his radio shows, Peter found ways to improve his tracks even more.
During 2004, the help from the two Englishmen (and others) resulted in productions at such a quality that it led to contact with a record label. However, the deal fell through and nothing came of it. The track fell into oblivion.
But in late 2006, Wandii contacted Peter with an offer to sign the very same track (that had fallen into oblivion two years earlier) to Moonrising Records. It was a deal that couldn't be turned down, so it was immediately accepted! That leads us to where Peter is today, with his first release coming up on Moonrising and many more tracks in the pipeline!
Expect to hear more from him in the future... |
