Der Mystik (a.k.a. Paulo Der Munoz) was born March 2nd, 1978, in Pereira city (the capital of Risaralda state in Colombia).

At an early age, he started practicing music with a keyboard and took piano and flute classes when he was in

High School, but he never completed the program. Then, after high school, he started working as a mobile DJ, playing at parties and small events at local nightclubs. But due to personal problems, he was forced to stop those activities and his dreams of becoming a DJ and producer appeared to be shattered.

A couple of years later, he moved to New York (USA), and there he found out about a music game called "MTV Music Generator 2" for the Playstation 2, which he bought with the very first check from his regular job, and started making sounds with it.

"It was not a professional music production software, but it taught me the basics of music production, and helped me to understand the use of reverb and delay, how to arrange a track, and developed my ear for making beautiful melodies without using a keyboard" -Der Mystik.

In 2004, he moved to California, and it is there where he created his first solid musical attempt, "Garden of Whispers" using FL Studio. This track was supported by Suzy Solar in her ETN.fm show "Solar Sessions", and she also listed it at 7th place in her monthly chart.

In the beginning of the third quarter of 2005, Paulo Der Munoz won the UKTA 2005 Anthem Competition with his track "Eye of the Vortex" and started to play regularly with his show "Der Sezzionz" on Internet radio stations. From this point, Der Mystik's music has been heard through several record labels such as Neuroscience Recordings, Moonrising Records, Istmo Music/Dub Tech Recordings, Atmosphoria Records and Real Music Recordings, as well as on CD compilations like "Transmasters" and "Sin Fronteras".

Der Mystik now hosts his show "Der Sezzionz" monthly on www.afterhours.fm, where he plays the old, the new and the unreleased, supporting professional and amateur artists alike, giving them the exposure they derserve.

Der Mystik's short and long term goals now are to expand his fanbase with his contiuously refreshing and new productions, become a full-time DJ, and to get his Business Management and Piano majors.
